This guide covers what to expect before, during, and after your class at Westside Exchange - from arriving and setting up to cleanup and payment.

Before your class

A Little Preparation Goes a Long Way

  • Bring all supplies and materials needed to teach your class unless we’ve arranged otherwise.

  • Make sure your project/sample and lesson plan are ready before class day.

  • Let Westside Exchange know as soon as possible if anything changes that could affect your class.

  • Westside Exchange will handle registration and attendee communication.

  • You do not need to collect payments or manage the attendee list.

Arriving & Setting Up

Give Yourself Time to Settle In

  • Arrive approximately 30 minutes before your scheduled start time

  • Westside Exchange will have the teaching space ready for your arrival.

  • Set out your materials and prepare your individual work areas.

  • Let us know ahead of time if you need access to specific Westside exchange equipment.

  • Please be ready to welcome attendees at the scheduled class time.

During Your Class

This Is Your Time to Shine

  • Begin and end as close to the scheduled times as possible.

  • Keep instruction welcoming and appropriate for the advertised experience level.

  • Encourage questions and interaction.

  • Follow all safety requirements for the materials and equipment you’re using.

  • If an attendee issue comes up that you need help handling, involve Westside Exchange.

Wrapping Up

Leave the Space Ready for What’s Next

  • Collect and remove your teaching materials and personal belongings.

  • Clean any tools or equipment used during your class.

  • Wipe down work areas and address spills or messes from your materials.

  • Return Westside Exchange equipment to it designated area.

  • Westside Exchange will handle the general reset of the room.

Compensation, Cancellations & Changes

Compensation

Featured Creators receive 70% of class registration revenue, with Westside Exchange retaining 30% for hosting, registration, marketing, and class administration.

Changes

If you need to make a change to a confirmed class, contact Westside Exchange directly as soon as possible. Please do not communicate schedule changes directly to registered attendees; we’ll handle attendee communication and update the class listing.

Cancellations

If circumstances prevent your from teaching a scheduled class, contact Westside Exchange as soon as possible. We’ll work with you to determine whether the class should be rescheduled or canceled and will handle communication with registered attendees.
